Colin Kaepernick

 Colin Rand Kaepernick (/'kaep@rnIk/ KAP-@rnik; born on November 3 1987) is an American civil rights activist as well as a football quarterback who is a free agent. Kaepernick was a six-year member of the San Francisco 49ers' National Football League (NFL) team. He protested police brutality in America by kneeling during the National Football League (NFL)'s 2016 season. In the college years in the NCAA Division I, he was a member of the Nevada Wolf Pack and was named twice the Western Athletic Conference Offensive Player-of-the Year. He was also the first NCAA Division I player to have accumulated 10,000 yards of passing and 4,000 yards of running in one career. After graduation, he was picked by the 49ers in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Following Smith's concussion Kaepernick was the 49ers quarterback of the team in 2012. The team won their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994, and Kaepernick was the team's quarterback the rest of the year.
