Kate Garry Hudson, born April 19, 1979, is an American actress. Her awards include an award for a Golden Globe Award as well as a Critics' Choice Film Award and a Satellite Award. She also was nominated for the Academy Award, a BAFTA Award and Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her performance in the role of Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe's Almost Famous (2000) was her most memorable performance in a film. She also took home the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and an Oscar nomination in the same category.
