Sanaa Lathan

 American actress Sanaa McCoy Lethan was born on September 19, 1971. She is the daughter of actress Eleanor McCoy and film director Stan Lathan. Her career began after she appeared on the television shows In the House, Family Matters, NYPD Blue, and Moesha. After appearing on the shows In the House Family Matters, Family Matters and Moesha, and NYPD Blue, Lathan gained further fame. She also appeared in the 1998 superhero movie Blade. Lathan then went into film roles in Love & Basketball (2000) and Brown Sugar (2002). Lathan's Broadway performance in A Raisin in the Sun brought her an award nomination at the Tony Awards as Best Featured actor in musical. After that, she took on the part in the role of Alexa "Lex" Woods in the film Alien vs. Predator. In 2008, she was offered an important role in the film The Family That Preys by Tyler Perry. Lathan was back in theatre in 2010, starring as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof which was an all-black production at the Novello Theatre.
