Eddie Murphy

 Edward Regan Murphy, born April 3, 1961, is an American comedian as well as a writer, producer, and singer. He rose to fame on the sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, for which he was a regular participant from 1980 until 1984. Murphy is also a stand-up comedian. Comedy Central's 100 Greatest Stand-ups Of All Time lists Murphy at No. 10. He has also received Golden Globe Award nominations for his roles in 48 Hours. (1982), Beverly Hills Cop series (1984-1999), Trading Places (1983), The Nutty Professor (1996), as well as Dolemite Is My Name (192019). Murphy has also been awarded numerous prizes for his work on the fantasy comedy film Dr. Dolittle (1998) and its 2001 sequel. In 2007, Murphy won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the soul singer James "Thunder" Early in the musical film Dreamgirls.Murphy has also worked as an actor in voice, such as parts as the Chinese dragon Mushu in Disney's Mulan (1998), Thurgood Stubbs in the sitcom PJs (1999-2001) and Donkey in DreamWorks Animation's Shrek series (2001-2010).
