Sanaa Lathan

 Sanaa McCoy Lathan (born September 19th 1971) is an American actress. She is the daughter of Eleanor McCoy, an actress, and Stan Lathan, a film director. Her acting career began when she appeared on the television shows In the House, Family Matters, NYPD Blue, and Moesha. Lathan was later recognized when she appeared in the 1998 film about superheroes Blade and following it with film roles in The Best Man (1999), Love & Basketball (2000), Disappearing Acts (2000), and Brown Sugar (2002).In 2004, Lathan's performance in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun received her a nomination at the Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play. In the following year, she portrayed the role in the role of Alexa "Lex" Woods in the movie Alien vs. Predator. In 2008, she was offered the lead role in the The film The Family That Preys by Tyler Perry. Lathan returned to theatre in 2010 when she starred in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof which was an all-black production at the Novello Theatre. She also reprised her role as Robyn in The Best Man Holiday (2013), a sequel that was themed around Christmas to The Best Man.
